This end of the garage is the entrance and storage. And it looked really dismal. But we had to make it look presentable, so we featured the stacked trunks, David`s vintage chair and his Dad`s bookcase, and one of our fab 1940s one-of-a-kind pillows.
.
Plus, now that we`ve let more natural light in, we added a new white rack to fill with books and plants.
.
With a metallic scroll atop light blush diamonds, and backed with a soft faux suede, this plush pillow was the perfect Mid-century modern touch to add to our photo shoot.
.
We also have a pair of gorgeous silk pillows that look great with the dark plum rug and wood credenza.

Scroll to the 3rd photo to see why, at the last minute, I chose to add this specific wallpaper for the wall with the cabinets.

With the rich, dark brown wood credenza as my focal point, I needed something to pull the space together. Cause on one side you had the credenza and dark plum rug, but the side with the cabinets was going to be a weird green I painted in 1999.
.
I needed something inexpensive, easy to install, and I thought black, golden yellow, and white would help balance the space. Especially with the yellow wall, dark wood, and creamy cabinets. It was also easy to paint the trim black and change out the knobs.
.
Yes, if I had had more time I would have selected a cool Mid-century Modern wallpaper to go with our retro lounge vibe, but, in Week 8 of the @oneroomchallenge, I had to move quickly. Peel + stick from Amazon was the answer.
.
We are pleased with the result. The wallpaper adds some color to my sewing corner and provides continuity to the space, making the cabinets pop.
