Happy New Year!  I'm super excited to be headed to Dallas in the morning to the 2019 LIGHTOVATION and the Total Home & Gift markets.  Dallas is well known as the International Home of Lighting and for good reason.  It is THE number one largest lighting market in the United States, featuring hundreds of top lighting brands and showrooms. Laid up for the holidays from surgery or a bad cold? I've got you covered. But first off, Happy Holidays!  A week from today is Christmas and two weeks from today is New Year's Day. Many families are working hard to prepare. Either for relatives to visit (maybe fixing up the guest room) or for children to be surprised by what's under the tree from Santa (finishing that shopping list) or a bountiful meal, travel, or all of the above. Being Empty Nesters now, our holidays are getting

I didnt think I'd be writing this, but since I'm receiving such a wealth of love and support and I've run out of time to send out a fall/winter newsletter, or even do a proper blog post (the "DXV Big Reveal" post is 90% finished. Watch for it in about 4 weeks.) I'm going to share with you that I have colon cancer. There I said it. NEWS ALERT! DEBORAH MAIN IS CANCER FREE! You know, sometimes you just have to say it.  I think the world would be a lot better off with women running the show.  Now, mind you, that is solely my opinion, but I also know first hand that there are some AMAZING women interior and product designers out there in the home design world.  So let's start there, shall we? Two of the top women product designers in the U.S. home furniture industry today are Robin Baron of Robin Baron and Tina Nicole of Nathan Anthony. They both happen to be launching incredible new furniture pieces at the upcoming fall Highpoint Market October 13 – 17th, starting this weekend, in Highpoint, North Carolina. When it comes to the launch of a new product for any design business,

Twelve years ago I went shopping at the Austin Junior League Christmas Bazaar, and I discovered this incredible jewelry line. Full of texture and color, I was instantly drawn to it and started chatting with the owner. The designer, Cynthia Bloom, and I hit it off immediately. As we became friends, it was funny to realize that we were also neighbors, both living in Austin's coveted 78704 neighborhoods for 30 + years,

Art heals. I know this first hand. You see, before I ever started making luxury pillows I got sick. Although I still have chronic health conditions that go unseen, but often limit me, I'm extremely grateful to be much better. The reasons are many. Having a fantastic husband and supportive friends and family are at the top of the list. But one primary reason I am better is because I discovered my passion for creating pillows. And through that discovery of "my art", it literally helped me heal.  (You can read about it HERE.) I've often shared artists and their artwork with you here on our blog, especially in the last two years during the WEST Austin Studio Tour. Today I want to talk more specifically about how art heals, by featuring my dear friend, artist Linda Stabinski. Linda has a show opening TODAY, Friday September 7th, from 5 - 9 p.m. (EDT) and running through September 29th that you should
