This Thanksgiving is a very special one for me personally. For it was exactly 30 years ago today I went jogging and woke up from a nap with ME/CFS, a severely debilitating disease. I had just finished graduate school. Within 5 months I had to quit my career. I was 37 years old.
.
I am one of the lucky ones and this milestone means so much to me because I could have stayed permanently bedridden, like many do. (See @meactnet)
.
But because of my amazing husband, David, who has taken care of me all these years and recognized that making pillows was helping me heal, he became the house husband (while working 2 jobs and raising our son) and gave me the gift of creating my art, one-of-a-kind pillows. I could not be more grateful!!🙏
.
It might be time for a break, cause as many of you know, I relapsed very badly this fall for 3 months, which is a wakeup call to do less activity, as the disease is always with me.
But I`ve been blessed beyond words with the most wonderful life, and a design business of 20 years. I thank each and every one of you for being part of my journey and supporting me all along the way.
Today, I am very thankful for YOU and grateful for the life I enjoy so much!! Sending you much love and a reminder that our health and family always come first. Bless you on this special day of thanks and enjoy dinner with loved ones and those pies!!
