Summer vacation has started for me and my husband David. We're in NYC right now visiting our son, and the above photo was taken today on a sailing cruise. So much fun and gorgeous weather! Happy Texture Tuesday!  With all that's going on in our country and the world, I thought I'd give your mind (and mine) a break with this week's Texture Tuesday.  I feature three textile art pillows I've submitted to apply for art exhibitions. Some exhibitions your work gets accepted, and others it doesn't. I'm currently waiting to hear back from two. I thought you might enjoy seeing the creative process that goes on behind the scenes in the Deborah Main Designs studio for each art piece I handcraft.

Well, I haven't looked at the news today, but so far, I've not been able to do Friday's Flowers & Trim for 3 weeks now due to terrorists attacks. I'm praying there was not one today (as I have some happy and sad news to share on the creative front) and my thought's continue to be with all those families whose lives have changed forever.

So, today I'm trying to get back to some normalcy with my weekly summer posts.  This Friday's Flowers & Trim is RED!!  And there's an extra special reason why it's RED.

What a thrill it was earlier this week to tune into #ModenusTalks, a new series Veronika Miller is doing with Modenus during the blog tours. The first one was launched in Vegas which you can read about here.

Blog-icon-for-KBIS-colour-horizBut a new team of bloggers was in NYC last week on the 2nd New York BlogTour  #BlogTourNYC(PartDeux).  (I know this might get a little confusing, but these amazing blog tours keep coming. And you know I've been sharing with you all the wonderful treats from the first NYC Blog tour (with many more inspiring posts to come!) and that understandably I'm partial to my own team BlogTourNYC2014)

But, this Part Deux team last week got to go to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) which I know was incredible, and, as Veronika always does, she created a host of other inspiring events.
