‘Tis Spring and Pantone “Greenery” is In the Air!

Spring is my favorite month of the year and our Shumard Red Oak has almost all of its fresh green leaves on it!  (I’m sorry for those still suffering through winter, but maybe this post will put a spring into your step!) I also love the month of April because it’s my wedding anniversary and birthday, back to back, and this year I’ve been working on my garden to get it all ready for the special occasions. I love nature and it feels great to get back to gardening.

I’m thrilled too that Pantone selected “Greenery” as its “Color of the Year“, because it is not only one of my favorite colors, but it’s such a happy color and we all could use that right now in the world. I love the symbolism too. So thank you Pantone…I’m feeling revitalized and ready to burst forth into my 6th decade with vigor!

This week’s Texture Tuesday is all about “Greenery” as featured in the Austin/San Antonio Home Design & Decor February/March issue on page 59, along with many other fashionable products. This wonderful issue is out on the stands, so be sure to grab a copy. What a beautiful selection of home and fashion pieces and decorating tips by interior designer Sharon Radovich in the “Spring Forward” article. And we have sprung forward indeed, rather rapidly, as it’s almost April!!  Where does the time go?!?

I don’t normally put my press on my blog (cause it’s on my website HERE) but it’s also not normal for my work to be mentioned TWICE in one publication on pages 48 – 49 in “Passionately Purple” and 58-59 in “Spring Forward”. I’m super excited, honored, and would like to thank a few people for making this possible. Thank you to:

  • Interior Designer, Sharon Radovich, owner of Panache Interiors for recommending my work, the green paisley swirl art pillow made from a beautiful multi-tone green silk textile I selected in Suzhou China,
  • Friend Sandy Weatherford, a long time supporter of my work,
  • Interior designer, Julie Evans, owner of JEI Design for commissioning my work and mentioning it in the “Passionately Purple” article, (See detail on the magazine’s website.)
  • Photographers Gregg Cestaro and Ryann Ford for taking gorgeous photos, and
  • Editor of Home Design & Decor magazine, Trisha Doucette.

I’ve known both of these talented interior designers for many years now and they are such generous supporters of local artisans. The caliber of their design work can truly transform your home, as you will see in the photos below.

Without further ado, enjoy the magazine images of “Greenery” and a few trims and pillows in my studio.  I hope all this “Greenery” and a touch of purple will inspire your spring decorating plans.

Happy Spring my friends! Till next week, enjoy the pretty Texas weather and remember me when you file your taxes, as I’m an “Income Tax Baby”! XO PG

Love the “Greenery” in this wild Pop Art 1960’s textile.. Vintage hot pants up-cycled into one-of-a-kind pillows.

Some green Deborah Main Designs vintage French trim and silk ribbon.

Below is the “Passionately Purple” article, written by Mauri Elbel and photographed by Ryann Ford, on p. 48 – 49 in Home Design & Decor. Read digital copy HERE. Award-winning Interior Designer Julie Evans designed these rooms for her client commissioning the purple textile pillow art specifically for this project. Her client had seen my work in Dallas at fine linen and gift store, Casa di Lino. Also see below photo detail of the purple paisley silk pillow, featuring an Art Deco brooch on a bed of iridescent rooster coque feathers, photographed by Gregg Cestaro. I love creating textile art pillows that complement colorful interior design!
