First off I’d like to introduce one of the generous sponsors, BLANCO, who paid for my trip and expenses to New York last month for #BlogTourNYC. (My trip was also sponsored, and paid for, by Modenus, Miele, DXV, Rutt Cabinetry, Prizer Hoods and West Edge Design Fair; all opinions are my own.)

While attending the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, BLANCO videotaped all twelve bloggers, in groups of three, to share our “Earth Day Tips” with consumers. We had so much fun making the “Earth Day” videos that we wanted to share it with you on this special day.

Earth Day began on April 22, 1970 with over 20 million Americans helping to launch the modern environmental movement. The Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act along with other substantial environmental policies followed closely behind. Now more than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day every year in order to increase awareness and funding to protect the environment and all the beauty the world has to offer us.  How are you celebrating Earth Day today and every day?

Please watch the video below, which BLANCO produced on #BlogTourNYC, to learn some “Earth Day Tips” from Jeanne Chung , Typhanie Peterson, and myself, that you can use every day.  I personally compost, but BLANCO  inspired me to make more efficient use of my kitchen too. Also check out  BLANCO by Design’s blog to see all the videos from #BlogTourNYC they will feature this week, and learn more about their fabulous kitchen products.

Here’s a little info about the luxury brand BLANCO:  They offer consumers high quality, innovative and award-winning kitchen sink and faucet designs along with highly functional kitchen accessories. They are a family-owned company since inception in 1925. BLANCO started as a team of 30 making copper galvanized parts for cookers and hot water bottles, but has now produced over 40 million BLANCO sinks. Considered an international leader in quality, innovation and service, BLANCO has redesigned the sink as a place used for more than its functional purpose.

The kitchen is the heart of a home. And BLANCO helps keep it that way! Photography by, with permission from, BLANCO.

BLANCO has made the kitchen sink the focal point of the room. And we love that because our kitchen and breakfast nook is THE focal point in our home. Now all I have to do is find a way to remodel my ENTIRE kitchen!!

But for starters, BLANCO so graciously offered me their BLANCO Solon Compost System to install in my kitchen and I can’t wait for it to arrive. We already compost, but I thought this would add an extra bit of motivation for me, especially since BLANCO has inspired me to get out there and garden again too. I’m trying out a Hydrangea bush (which I understand is hard to do in Texas)….now all I have to do is get out there and plant it!

BLANCO remains a leader in the industry by maintaining their strive for innovation which can be seen through their track record of “firsts” such as the –STEELART- collection. BLANCO also pioneered the industry by bringing MicroEdge technology with its virtual flush mount edge. BLANCO has also received many design awards including the Reddot Design Award, Product Innovator Award, and many more.

Most recently, BLANCO introduced their new ONE Collection composed of stainless steel sinks with increased functionality to help consumers stay more organized when cooking and cleaning. Now you’re talking!!

We all could use more organization in the kitchen, couldn’t we? I love the new ONE Collection! I know for a fact, that my built in cutting board is a mile away from my sink….how nice it would be to have it all in ONE place right next to my new compost system!

With all the incredible cooking shows these days, the ONE collection can create an entire  culinary station in your kitchen so you can take your culinary expertise to new heights…or like me, keep up with the kitchen mess, but all in one place. The ONE collection can be accessorized with a Magnetic Sink Caddy which holds cleaning tools, a Workstation which holds knives and other utensils, an Ash Compound Cutting Board which fits to the sink along with Custom Grids. (The XL Single bowl also has a Multi-Level Grid which can be used as an additional rack in the sink or as a separate unit).

I love the BLANCO cutting board accessory too…how convenient! Photography by, with permission from, BLANCO.

What I personally love about the ONE collection, is that when it comes time to remodel our kitchen, this collection will not only be incredibly helpful with all its versatility and easy to use accessories, it will also go perfectly with my new BLANCO Solon Compost System which I hope to install right next to our built in cutting board.

What an “eco-friendly way to bring the beauty of BLANCO indoors”. And what better way to celebrate Earth Day then with a streamlined organized sink system to make your kitchen more user friendly.

Thank you BLANCO for making it possible for me to attend #BlogTourNYC and for the gift of the new compost system. I can’t wait to try it out! I learned so much and you inspired me to get back to work in my garden too, thank you!!  I can’t wait to let y’all know how much easier the new BLANCO Solon Compost System will be in my kitchen!  Now if I could only remodel my kitchen entirely I’d be in “Kitchen Heaven”!

(Deborah Main Designs’ trip to New York for #BlogtourNYC was sponsored and paid for in part by BLANCO.  All photos and information are from BLANCO’s press kit.  All opinions are my own).

Please check out BLANCO’s fabulous cutting edge kitchen products, as I can assure you they will save you time and help save our planet. Also see their commitment to the environment by reviewing their Sustainability and Water-Saving Products. We at Deborah Main Designs are also committed to our environment by re-purposing many of our materials and leaving as small a footprint as we can. But please remember most of all, that we are all just guests on our earth, so treat it with love and care just like you would your own family and friends. We at Deborah Main Designs wish you a wonderful Earth Day, EVERY day! Till next time, XOPG

Thanks Jeanne, yes it was indeed!! You still win the prize for most articulate. 🙂 It was really fun learning more about BLANCO and it truly did help motivate me to get back to gardening and do more for our environment. Now all I have to do is PLANT the plants I just bought..and next on my list is a rainwater barrel. 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I really appreciate your feedback! xo
