12 Mar Deborah Main Introduces Sponsors of #BlogTourNYC2014

In less than one week, I’ll be in New York City at my very first Modenus Blog Tour!!  Excited is an understatement. Ecstatic is more accurate!!! At the start of 2014, just one week after venturing out of my pillow-land comfort zone in January, I went to my very first event as a blogger (which you’ve read about in this #SneakPeek post) at the at the Dallas Market Center. Never before have I attended any event as a blogger, because as you know, my specialty is handcrafting luxury pillows.  As an artist, I was always on the other side,  a vendor, a small manufacturer either represented in a showroom in Dallas or, as in Atlanta, selected to have my own booth in High Design. So this was a whole new animal to me….VERY unchartered waters.But the cool thing about it is that I was not the only newbie in Dallas. And all the other wonderful interior designers and bloggers welcomed me and my naivete with open arms!

Who would have ever guessed that one single leap of faith would land me a special invitation from Veronika Miller of Modenus to be one of 12 select bloggers for #BlogTourNYC 2014.

It just goes to show you…that even though you don’t know what your doing, someone else does!  And this #BlogTourNYC2014 trip opens a whole new chapter for Deborah Main Designs. The first 10 years I was intensely focused on building a business, making hundreds of pillows, doing event after event, and building a solid brand and reputation. Now I feel I have the liberty to explore other creative ways to grow my brand. Our new website is one (where with a click of a button, you can now pin and share our pillow designs with the world!) and blogging is another.  (And who knows what the future brings…maybe even product development is in the cards??) So get ready as I spread my blogging wings all the way to the Big Apple!!

I am so excited about this new adventure because our purpose as bloggers at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show is to listen and learn about brand new products, new lines, new experiences and write about them. Each blog tour put on by Modenus is sponsored by different manufacturers in the design industry and, new to this tour, is an educational component.  We will learn through mini-workshops about food photography and floral arranging, just for starters.  To learn more about this blog tour click “What’s it all about?”.
