05 Dec Hello Austin – NEW Design Showroom in Town!
No more having to drive to Houston, Dallas, or fly to NYC to shop for products for your clients! The Marketplace ATX has the answer for you right here in Austin, Texas.
Explore, Connect, Select, Buy
Meet Anita Erickson, Founder and CEO, who pioneered this highly unique design trade destination for Austin. With her vision, entrepreneur chutzpah, and several investors, she created a gorgeous space to “Explore, Connect, Select, Buy”. Located at 7727 Burnet Road, The Marketplace ATX is unique in that it is a highly curated showroom, to the trade only, with numerous international and local vendor partners from which you – interior designers, decorators, architects, and builders – can connect, get inspired by, and buy direct.

National and local vendors
The list is long and continually growing, as Anita adds new vendors all the time. I popped by to reconnect with Anita as I’ve known her from many other prior entrepreneur ventures. I was truly amazed at how vast and welcoming the space is! It’s very bright with lots of room to stroll the vendors’ beautiful products. Each vendor partner has its own space set up exactly how they want. Giddy with excitement, I ran my hands over gorgeous textiles, flipped through multiple wallpaper patterns, and even hopped in the tub (a thing designers tend to do at showrooms!).
Here is a list of the variety of vendor partners currently at The Marketplace ATX showroom:
A dream Decor, Artisan Hardwood Floors, Benton Art and Design, Bentwood of Austin, Gabby/Summer Classics, Gilsa, Homeva, John Walter Rugs and Broadloom, Kisabeth Furniture, Luxe Magazine (media partner), Milton and King, Mend Services (service partner), M21 Restorations, Moderno Porcelain Works, Neuline, Presidio Steel Doors and Windows, Sapele and Hide, Tidelli Outdoor Living, and TriSupply.
Read more about each partner on their website: The Marketplace ATX
The spacious showroom is the perfect new spot in Austin to take your client and source materials, From wallpaper, rugs, art, antiques, and outdoor furniture, to countertops, hardwood flooring, lighting, and more, The Marketplace ATX has it all, with more coming!
I’m personally very excited about the impact The Marketplace ATX is going to have on the growing Austin design community. Please enjoy a few photos from my visit to this inspiring new showroom!
Here I am above, enjoying art and antiques at Studio Marchant’s space. But don’t tell Laurie, cause you’re not supposed to sit in the chaise. 🙂
It was so wonderful to see Anita again, after several years, and get the full tour of this exciting new design center. Follow The Marketplace ATX on Social at:

Event this Thursday Dec 7th
Stop by to see for yourself! Join the gang and explore all the gorgeous products at The Marketplace ATX this Thursday, December 7th, from 5:30 to 9:30 for the Bentwood & Moderno Grand Opening Celebration Holiday Party. RSVP here. Learn more about this inspiring Trade-only showroom in Austin on their website, The Marketplace ATX.
The showroom conducts events all the time, like First Friday Brunch, and educational seminars for CEUs as well, so be sure to get on their email list. I can speak to how fun and fantastic the events are, and the beautiful products represented at the showroom are inspiring and accessible. It makes me want to dive back into the One Room Challenge and design my kitchen all over again.
Design collaboration opportunities
Seriously, with Austin growing up, it is a tremendous step to have this many wonderful home-furnishing brands all under one roof. Thank you, Anita! When I was a guest participant in the One Room Challenge in 2019 and 2020, I had to look nationally to partner with brands, as there was no central location here in Austin. I did partner with two fantastic local brands and many superb national ones, but if The Marketplace ATX had been here, it would have made transforming my home in 8 weeks a helluva lot easier. Austin is a growing design community with new interior designers, architects, and builders moving here ready to collaborate more like what I have experienced on the national level.
As Anita states: We are a new To-The-Trade Design Center working to connect interesting brands with the design community of Austin. We foster a collaborative environment, with several networking and learning events each month. Our vision is to be the facilitator of Austin’s evolution as a world-class design destination. – Anita Erickson, Founder/CEO
This makes me very happy and it should make you feel excited that you can access so many high-quality brands right here in Austin for your clients. I’ve already met so many new designers and brands in Austin ready to work together that I can’t wait to attend this Thursday’s event. See you there! XO PG
