Nothing like the January Dallas Market Total Home & Gift show and Lightovation arriving one week early to jump-start you into the new year!  (Whoa baby….that’s what I get for missing June Market.)  Have I set all my goals and planned out the entire year?  Well….  I took 2 weeks off to unplug and enjoy some downtime with family and friends (and myself) so I could refresh and start anew.  How about you?  Selfcare, in my opinion, should always be at the top of our list. After the holidays, I always need a good kick in the butt to get me started in the new year, and January Dallas Market does the trick. LIGHTOVATION

Lightovation, starting Wed, January 8th, brings the “best and the brightest in residential lighting together under one roof”. And that is so true. I’ve been going for several years now and each time I am amazed at all the new showrooms, designers launching new lighting lines, incredible speakers in the new SMART center and parties galore.  My friend Laura Van Zeyl does an incredible job with her team of making this THE lighting event of the year.  In fact, Dallas is the only market in the United States where you get all the lighting design in one place. So it’s wonderful for interior designers to help homeowners select lighting for their upcoming projects, both residential and commercial.

TOTAL HOME & GIFT MARKET

 

Also going on this week is the Total Home & Gift Market.   If you, or your designer, have never attended the Home & Gift Market, you are in for a treat. There are many markets all year long to attend, but Dallas has really upped its game and is attracting some of the best showrooms and top talent.

2020 StyleEyes

One exciting feature that Dallas Market has added in recent years is the StyleEyes, a group of top design influencers and interior designer star power selected each market to share trends during both the Total Home & Gift Market and Lightovation.  I always look forward to learning from the best of the best. It helps me as a designer to know what my clients will be looking for in 2020. So be sure to check out the 2020 StyleEyes.   I look forward to getting to know a few of these designers I’ve yet to meet.

 

WOW, there are so many great events and showrooms to visit while in Dallas and I’m only there for 2 days. So I cheated a bit and have given you 4 for Thursday and 4 for Friday. Chandeliers at CWI Lighting

 

If you remember (how could you forget, right?) one of my top sponsors for the fall 2019 One Room Challenge was CWI Lighting. I transformed a drab breakfast nook into an elegant cozy space, and the Deco crystal chandelier totally makes the space.  We love it!  I can’t wait to go to CWI Lighting’s new showroom to see all their new designs. This 7-light chandelier is absolutely breathtaking in real life and with a dimmer we can adjust how bright we want it to be.  I love too how you look up from the table you don’t even see the light bulbs because all 187 faceted crystals completely cover them up.  Great design!

Leslie is a long-time friend and mentor of mine.  I have attended all of her speaking engagements at the new SMART Center.  I come away filled with so inspired with many new tips to apply to my social media strategies, and the campaigns of my clients.  Two Not-to-be-missed events!
