In October 2019, I participated for the 2nd time as a Guest Participant in the 6-week National One Room Challenge (ORC) with media sponsor Better Homes & Gardens. Since my plan was to eventually remodel our kitchen and living room, I selected our breakfast nook window seat area, which is right in the middle of this triad of rooms. I thought a much smaller space would be easier. It was not. Mainly because I decided to create a fall/winter and spring/summer look with my luxury pillows.
I made almost 20 pillows for the breakfast nook (shop them online HERE). Kravet generously sponsored the linen fabric for the Roman shades, aqua cornice tops, cushion seat and velvet pillows. Other pillows were made with our in-studio silk brocades, vintage textiles and French trim. The jewelry for the space is the gorgeous Deco chandelier by sponsor CWI Lighting. It was great fun taking a dining nook from drab to fab and incorporating family heirloom china pieces into the tabletop décor. The Big Reveal of this nook can be seen HERE.
