08 Dec Jingle & Mingle – ‘Tis the Season to Spread Joy!
Happy Holidays! I don’t know about you, but it’s been a whirlwind of a fall and Christmas will be here in about 2 weeks. Yikes, I haven’t even begun to do my holiday shopping! But our studio has now added a fun “Jingle & Mingle” with special guest, award-winning milliner Laura Del Villaggio of Milli Starr. So read on to catch the details and enjoy a peek into my home and studio.
I’ve been busy filling orders and spreading holiday cheer by having our 2nd Annual Holiday Open Studio and this Friday a special “Jingle & Mingle”. I always look forward to our Open Studio because friends bring friends and before you know it we have a full house, lots of holiday cheer, and shopping made easy for my clients. (If you live in Austin and want to know about events ahead of time, please sign up for our Quarterly Newsletter HERE).
Well, at least our tree is up and we decorated our home a little with a Santa’s Helper. I’m thankful the pillows themselves provide sparkly and colorful decoration.
But it’s amazing what a few sprigs from the tree will do for a fireplace mantel and one bouquet of red roses to brighten up even our bathroom. I tend to decorate modestly, but I love it when I’m at a holiday party and the decorations are dreamy, like below. Love staircases because they’re so fun to decorate! This one is in the beautiful San Antonio home of Ed & Linda Whitacre. (More on that FAB Holiday Party next week).
Tell me, do you go all out with decorations for the holidays? Add a comment as I’d love you to see some of your holiday decor.
We had such an amazing time at our 2nd Holiday Open Studio! So much so, that we’ve extended our holiday hours AND added a one-night-only “Jingle & Mingle” party. So if you live local, are visiting Austin for the holidays, or simply could not make it on Dec 2nd, please stop by:

In case you haven’t been to or seen our small boutique studio in Austin, I wanted to give you a little feel for it below.
We live in a quaint 1950’s cottage bungalow in South Austin, in the best neighborhood of all, 78704. We’re centrally located to about everything and right up the hill from Zilker Park and Barton Springs Pool. (If you’re ever interested in staying with us, we rent out an Airbnb, The Collier Guest Room, so come visit!)
You walk into our front living room which ajoins our kitchen (where my husband serves his homemade Potato Leek Soup for guests toward the end of our Open Studio) and to my working studio. The small living room area below is where we receive guests and I meet with my clients and local interior designers throughout the year. We have lots of antiques like that Shaker drop leaf table under the mirror and the piano my mother was given to her when she was seven.
I treasure family heirlooms and love to decorate the piano above as it’s the first thing you see when you enter our studio. We make it into a ” Winter wonderland” featuring one of our couture Opulent Jewel Pillows, “The Sophia” and our NEW sexy UnZipped that recently showed in luxury brand KOKET’s showroom at High Point Market in N.C..
We also decorate it with all our little pretties, our collectible holiday ornaments that make perfect gifts all year round. This year I remembered I had this amazingly long silk white vintage French trim which was perfect to trim the display with.
From the piano you can see right into my actual working studio (above photo) where I do all my design and sewing work to create my luxury art pillows. I have 2 huge racks filled with delicious vintage French trim I’ve collected over the years. And this huge long 1960s credenza in rich brown swirled wood which has turned out to be THE best purchase for my sewing room because it gives me another table-height work space as well as stores all our luscious velvets.
Please enjoy a few photos from our Holiday Open Studio & Sample Sale last weekend and stop by any day through Dec 24th (except Tues the 12th) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 – 8 p.m. We only have a few one-of-kind holiday ornaments left, so I wouldn’t wait until the last minute.
My art pillows might be over-the-top luxurious, but as an artist I live a blessed and humble life with my husband David, our cat Zabel, and all the colorful vintage textile, trim and jewelry I love to collect. We’d love to celebrate the holidays with you and take great joy in providing a very relaxing “private shopping experience” for you during the hectic holiday season, so please come see our studio!
Join us THIS Friday, Dec 15th, for our SPECIAL Holiday Party “Jingle & Mingle” from 5 – 10 p.m. with signature cocktail and special guest, award-winning milliner, Laura Del Villaggio of Milli Starr. A time to catch up with friends, say goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018, and, if you’re still holiday shopping, enjoy end-of-the-year “Sample Sale” and loads of fun! Please RSVP HERE.
Till next week, when we’ll talk about luxury brand BLANCO and Kravet textiles, enjoy all the holiday parties and events, XO PG
