31 Jul The Baroness Launches Fabulous New Showroom in Dallas!
Meeting The Baroness, New York City interior designer Robin Baron, and attending the Grand Opening of Dallas Market’s NEW Interior Design + Home Center (IDHC), was the #1 reason I went up to Dallas Market’s June Total Home & Gift Market one day earlier in June. I had already planned to attend as my work is carried To-the-Trade in the NEW showroom (#10011) of Peninsula Home Collection. But thanks to James Swan of Million Dollar Decorating (who happens to live in Bath, Maine where I went to high school!), am I ever glad I did, as you can see from my recent blog post of 7 Essential Networking Tips and meeting interior designer Michelle Workman HERE. I would have missed out totally on meeting FOUR amazing interior designers who I’d always wanted to meet!
During the Grand Opening cocktail reception of the new IDHC, I not only got to meet Robin #IRL (in real life), but see the launch of her brand new showroom in Dallas AND hear the inspiring “3-Diva’s Design Panel”, moderated by James Swan, the very next day. I’m so glad this savvy New York City designer chose Dallas to open a beautiful showroom and launch her new furniture line, because Dallas is where it’s happening!
What perfect timing to share my experience with you as The Baroness is currently at the Las Vegas Market right now! In fact, Today, Monday, July 31st at 3:00 P.M., Robin will be doing one of her LIVE broadcasts “Let’s Talk” featuring multi-talented celebrity interior designer Kelli Ellis, whom I had the good fortune to work with last year at High Point (See blog post HERE; scroll down past Design on a Dime to get to Kelli).
Be sure to stop by to hear these two dynamos as they engage design professionals attending Vegas Market to achieve their goals. I’d be there in a heartbeat if I was in Vegas. But alas, still in Austin under the hot Texas sun….106! And follow James Swans #marketbuzz hashtag on Instagram.
Here are a few fun photos from the Grand Opening of the new Interior Home + Design Center, and then it’s on to Robin’s showroom and the 3-Divas Design Panel. It was so wonderful to run into Elle Cole of Elle Cole Interiors, whom I had met on my very first blogging excursion to Dallas a few years ago. As well as the wonderful Shay Geyer, and much to my surprise, Jane Dagmi (and her beau) of Steelyard Access! I only get a chance to attend the Dallas Market these days, so it was such an exciting time and fantastic to connect with many friends. Please check out Jane’s detailed blog post about the 3-Divas Design Panel HERE . (note: Jane’s post has much more detail than I will have here, so check it out).
Now on to Robin Baron’s NEW Dallas showroom. What I loved about it was it’s location in the new Interior Home + Design Center, but most of all I loved that it felt like you were shopping in a “boutique” and not a showroom. It was the perfect size where you could see her entire new line of furnishings, lighting, hardware and textiles.
One piece I absolutely loved was this orange credenza below. The hardware is so striking against the orange. I would put that in my home in a minute! LOVE it!! Robin was so proud to point out the inside label with her name on it. I would be too if I had my own furniture line!
I had read and seen so much online about Robin, and she’s a New Yorker, which most people do not know that I grew up in upstate New York, that meeting her finally in real life was like seeing an old friend. That’s how it always is with New Yorkers! Finally someone in Texas who pronounces “water” the way I do. 🙂 I also really enjoyed meeting her team (I apologize for not remembering your names) as they were delightful and full of zest just like Robin. How could you not be with that wonderful designer as your boss!
I loved everything about Robin’s new furniture line, and you can see it’s entirety on her website HERE, but there were 4 pieces in particular that stood out. And what I love most is that her collection is curated from vintage and new pieces that she designs.
- The orange “Rochelle” credenza with it’s incredible hardware,
- These amazing miniature ottomans which I believe Robin referred to as “my little babies”,
- The Paris sofa, particularly in it’s amazing textile, and
- Her incredible collection of vintage pieces.
Here’s a much better image off of Robin’s website of the true color of this fabulous textile on the Paris Sofa! Heavenly in person for sure.
I asked Robin why she chose Dallas for her first showroom and the main reason was the brand new Interior Home + Design Center and it’s wonderfully attentive new director, Derrick Ricketts.

Last but not least, the next day I had the luxury of meeting #irl interior designers Michelle Nussbaumer and Nancy Price and hearing the wonderful 3-Divas Design Panel, moderated by James Swan of the Million Dollar Decorating. It was my first time meeting James too (I listen to so many of his exciting and informative Podcasts!). He posed several intriguing questions, as he does so smoothly on his very popular podcast, to the 3 Divas:
• Michelle Nussbaumer is the creative force behind a global design business as well as a Dallas retail destination, Ceylon et Cie. Afterward, Michelle Nussbaumer signed copies of her new book Wanderlust: Interiors That Bring the World Home, of which I was so happy to get a copy. Wanderlust has been my summer go-to book for inspiration!
• Nancy Price is the owner of a Jackson, Mississippi-based design firm. Her design business and showroom provide clients with counsel for design projects as well as curated art, lighting, antiques, custom furniture, and jewelry.
• Robin Baron is a New York City-based interior designer, lifestyle expert, and home furnishings designer with her brand new showroom debuting in the Dallas Interior Home + Design Center. (Note: The above 3 descriptions were listed on the June Dallas Market events page. Take time to peruse their websites to learn more about each designer).
Please enjoy the photos below and I highly recommend a more detailed review of the panel discussion by my friend Jane Dagmi, Editorial Director of Steelyard Access.
My one major take-away from this panel of three very wise and experienced women designers, was that women CAN do it all, but just not all at the same time. I was so incredibly inspired and motivated by these women who are savvy entrepreneurs, interior designers, mothers, and writers, that I came away with all the inspiration I need to take my business to the next level at this fall’s BOLD Summit in Chicago. More on that in August. Till then, enjoy your summer and go meet other like-minded creatives so you too can be inspired! XO PG
