Deborah Main Designs

Biography
Deborah Main weaves together history, fashion and art in her handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pillows. She draws upon her innate sense of color, texture and composition to design and make objects of beauty that can be passed down from one generation to the next. Each piece is heirloom quality, a keepsake to be cherished and admired. Yet, because Deborah blends old and new, her pillows are unique, contemporary and timeless all at once.

Deborah’s passion for pillows came after taking a sewing class with local sewing guru Leslie Bonnell.

“I’ve been hooked ever since! I love color and texture and enjoy layering and interweaving it using antique to modern textiles and vintage jewelry I collect from a variety of sources, including Austin’s own Amelia’s Retro-Vogue & Relics. I also repurpose fabric whenever I can.”

Deborah attributes much of her success to the community of designers and entrepreneurs especially in Austin that continues to offer support as she pursues a passion for pillows and design.

“I feel so lucky to be able to do what I love in such a supportive creative community as Austin. I’ve had the good fortune of learning from so many other talented artists and experienced local business owners who have helped me along the way for which I am extremely grateful.”

Deborah Main lives in South Austin with her husband and daughter. She designs and creates her one-of-a-kind pillows in her home studio.
